Financing Purchases

The online store accepts only bank cards. Modena Cape Town sales representatives may offer other payment options. Please contact your Account Executive at Modena Cape Town directly or email info@modena.capetown for more information.

Processing Online Payments
We process charges for your order as soon as our systems can complete the order and make your software or services available online. Processing typically takes a few minutes but can take up to 24 hours. Check with your payment provider for information about when charges will post to your account.

Paying Taxes and Fees

Depending on the order, sales tax may be calculated and charged. Sales tax charges are calculated based on your location and appear on the order review screen after you enter your billing address.

Tax Exempt Customers: We cannot process tax exempt orders in the online store at this time. Please contact your Account Executive at Modena Cape Town directly or email info@modena.capetown for more information.

Orders Placed Directly with Modena Cape Town Online Store
Modena Cape Town will refund in full orders for product subscriptions purchased directly from the online store within 7 days of the initial purchase. Contact your Account Executive at Modena Cape Town directly or email info@modena.capetown within 7 days of purchase to contact us and request a refund. Provide your order information to help us identify your order and issue your refund. Modena Cape Town generally takes 5 business days to approve and process your refund. We then issue a credit to the card you used when purchasing. We refund the full cost of your order, including taxes and other fees.

Accessing Software & Cloud Services after a Return

When a refund is issued for a software purchase, your license to use the software and associated services is deactivated. This includes serial numbers and activation information for subscriptions to Autodesk software. You can no longer use the software or access services after we issue the refund.

Recurring Billing for Subscriptions

Your order for Autodesk subscriptions automatically renew when your contract expires to ensure you have continuous access. You will be charged for a new subscription term on the renewal date listed in your Autodesk Account. Modena Cape Town eStore uses the payment method you entered during purchase for subscription renewal. If you prefer to use a different payment method for recurring billing for subscription renewal, you can contact your Account Executive at Modena Cape Town directly or email info@modena.capetown.

Requesting a Refund after Automatic Renewal

Renewal charges for existing subscriptions purchased directly from Modena Cape Town are not eligible for refund. To stop a subscription from renewing automatically, send an email to info@modena.capetown five (5) days before the subscription renewal date. You retain access to software and services until the renewal date but are not automatically charged for a new term. Access to your software and services ends on your subscription renewal date.

Warranty Information

Modena’s XCAD warranty protects all our PCs against defects in materials or workmanship for the duration of the warranty. While much effort is made to ensure we are building the most reliable computer possible, we understand they will occasionally be in need of repair. To this extent, we’ve made the Modena’s XCAD warranty simple to understand. Here are the core features of the XCAD Warranty:


 Tech Support

Every XCAD Workstation includes lifetime labor and technical support. This also covers installation of upgrades purchased through Modena Cape Town.

Our technical support is intended to cover hardware issues. While we make every effort to assist you in working with operating systems, you may need to obtain support through other channels for those issues. We can only provide a minimal level of support for any issues related to special order parts.

 Parts

Every XCAD Workstation includes at least one year parts warranty. Additional years can be purchased on most models.

If a failed or defective component is reported during the term of our parts warranty, Modena Cape Town will repair or replace the defective part with a new or reconditioned part. We may substitute to a part of equivalent or better performance. Warranty service for all peripherals (eg. monitors, speakers, other external equipment) is provided by the manufacturer of the component.

 Shipping

Should your PC need repair within the first 30 days of warranty, we will pay shipping costs in both directions within South Africa.

The shipping method we use will match the transit time of the shipping method you originally ordered. After 30 days you are responsible for shipping costs to Modena Cape Town. If the PC is still within its parts warranty term, Modena will cover the cost of returning it to you via courier. If faster shipping service is desired, you may pay for a faster method. This shipping warranty only covers shipping within South Africa.


Refunds, Returns, and Order Changes

Modena Cape Town bills all orders at the time the order is placed. Within 30 days of the shipment of your order, you have the option to return your hardware for refund. There is a R800 charge for any change made to orders already in progress.

All refunds and cancelled orders are subject to a 15% restocking fee. All returned hardware must be undamaged and in as-new condition, in original packaging.

The following are not eligible for return or refund.

  • Opened or activated software
  • Shipping costs of any kind
  • Special order items, services, and peripherals (eg. monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers, other external equipment)
  • Quantity orders and orders over R100 000

Transfer of Warranty

When changing ownership of the computer system, the warranty (including lifetime labor and technical support) does not transfer to the new owner without prior consent from Modena Cape Town. Systems sold to known re-sellers at the time of sale constitutes consent for transfer of warranty. When a XCAD machine is resold, the original owner must contact our service department to inform us of the new owner.

Computer Repairs

Desktop and server PCs are generally repaired within 10 business days after we receive delivery. If any replacement parts needed are not in stock, the total time needed to complete the repair may be extended. All our PC repairs are guaranteed for 30 days or for the remainder of any applicable XCAD warranty, whichever is greater. This guarantee does not cover new symptoms.

Parts Store Purchases

Components purchased on the Modena Cape Town parts store may be returned for 30 days. If a component fails or is found defective during this term, Modena Cape Town will accept a prompt return for full refund. Component purchases returned for any other reason carry our standard 15% restocking fee. Our technical support service, labor warranty, and shipping warranty do not apply to parts store purchases.

Limitation of Liability

Modena Cape Town is not responsible for damages or costs that are the result of accidents, misuse, disaster, or abuse of your computer. Any time you ship a computer to us, you MUST pack the computer properly — Modena Cape Town is not responsible for damage caused by improper packing. Modifications, overclocking, BIOS or firmware updates, or repairs made to your computer system by anyone other than Puget Systems will void your warranty if not cleared through a Modena Cape Town representative. Most modifications will be approved, but we need this aspect of control in order to prevent unnecessary damage. Modena Cape Town is not responsible for any losses or complications that arise as a result of a computer failure or a delay in the production or repair of your system.
